GINATAANG MANOK RECIPE

Do you love gata/coconut milk.? What is your favorite dish with coconut milk.?

Ako, halos lahat ng may gata ay paborito ko, iba kasi talaga ang gata, malasa at masarap. Once a week, I had to cook dish with coconut milk, either fish, chicken or pork and even vegetables, any kind of veggies can be best paired with gata.

Today, I wanna share to you may ginataang manok/chicken in coconut milk recipe. Its super easy to cook yet, super yummy.

Note: My cooking doesn't have exact measurement of ingredients. Kumbaga tantiya tantiya lang, basta naaayon sa iyong panlasa.


Ginataang Manok/Chicken in Coconut Milk Recipe

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 kilo chicken
  • gata (may pangalawang piga)
  • 1/2 papaya
  • 1 tali malunggay leaves
  • onion, garlic and ginger
  • salt/patis and pepper
  • a pinch of sugar
  • siling labuyo or siling haba
  • 3 pcs kalamansi or 1 tbsp suka
  • 2 tbsp oil for sauteing
Procedure:
  • Saute onion, garlic and ginger in oil. Add the chicken, and saute until the chicken has no blood.
  • Put in the gata, ung pangalawang piga and let it simmer.
  • Add the papaya, kalamansi and sili.
  • Put in the kakang gata (1st extraction) and season with salt and pepper, and a pinch of sugar lang to balance the taste. Let it simmer until the chicken is cooked.
  • Lastly, add the malunggay leaves. And serve with rice.
