CHICKEN MECHADO RECIPE

There was a time na natatamad ako pumunta ng palengke. Susme, sino ba naman kasi ang hindi tatamarin kung lahat ng bilihin ay nagmahal (ang hirap kaya magbudget noh). Sasakit na lang ang ulo mo sa kakaisip kung paano makakatipid. 

Today, I just cooked na lang kung ano ang laman ng ref. Di bale ng kulang kulang ang ingredients, masarap naman ang kinalabasan. I have chicken, carrots and potatoes. Hmm, ano ang pwedeng luto dito? And then I check, may tomato sauce pa. Bingo! Chicken mechado is on the house, hahah.!

Chicken mechado is another chicken stew cooked in tomato sauce. It is very similar to caldereta, afritada or menudo na pare-parehong may tomato sauce. But mostly, beef ang ginagamit dito. And sometimes pork, but today I used chicken kasi yun ang meron ako. 

Let's get cooking our simple ulam na. 

Notes: My cooking doesn't have exact measurements of ingredients, kumbaga tantiya tantiya lang ng naaayon sa aking panlasa. 


Chicken Mechado

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 kg chicken 
  • 1 medium potatoes
  • 1 medium carrots
  • 2 tbsp soysauce
  • 1 pack tomato sauce (200g)
  • onion, garlic
  • sili green (or chili flakes)
  • a pinch of sugar
  • water 
  • 2 pc laurel leaves
  • 2 tbsp canola oil
  • salt and pepper 
* You can add other ingredients, if you want, like bellpepper or green peas.

Procedure:
  • Saute onion and garlic. Add chicken and saute until browned. 
  • Then add water, enough to cover the chicken and let is simmer para lumambot and chicken. 
  • Once the chicken is tender na, add the tomato sauce, potatoes, carrots, soysauce, laurel leaves and simmer hanggang maluto. 
  • Add the sili and season with sugar, and salt and pepper. 
  • Then serve. 
Kitam, hindi man kumpleto ang ingredients, nakapagluto pa din ako ng masarap na ulam. 




Nasa sarap ng luto ang sikreto kahit kulang kulang ang  ingredients, basta masaya ka at nageenjoy magluto, mas masarap pa din ang kalalabasan niyan.
